Sammy Lawson is a St. Louis native who began his color guard journey in his freshman year at Lafayette High School, where he was a member of the winter guard program from 2014-2018. He also spent one fall season spinning with the Lancer Regiment. After high school, Sammy was a member of Music City Drum and Bugle Corps for 2 seasons, spending 2018 as a guard performer and 2019 with the hornline. He was invited to be an alternate for La Voûte Performance Ensemble during their 2020 competitive season. He also served as a choreographer and teacher for the Cape Central Tiger Band in Cape Girardeau, Missouri (2019-2020). Sammy is currently working on a bachelor’s of secondary education (English) with a minor in dance and music at Southeast Missouri State University, where he is an active member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He has performed with the Marching Redhawks and is currently casted to perform in the 2020 production of Southeast Dance Project in the piece Sonder by Alice Anders.
