La Voûte Performance Ensemble: Auditions

September 26-27, 2020

La Voûte is seeking performing artists through a formal audition process for the 2020-2021 season. Eligible performers (ages 18+) should have adequate training in dance as well as flag technical skills with additional consideration to experience with rifle and sabre. In order to provide a safe audition environment, La Voûte will follow the health and safety guidelines set forth by local government officials. Space is limited and registration is required to audition. Performers will be required to submit a headshot and résumé upon check-in at auditions. Saturday, September 26th - Dance Audition

All interested performers will attend a dance audition on Saturday, September 26th at The Big Muddy Dance Studios (address below) located in the Grand Center Arts District. Dance auditions will be organized into groups of 9 or less and scheduling will be determined by the time/date of each registration submission. Individuals will submit their headshot and resumé upon check-in. Please plan to wear professional and athletic attire for the audition.

Sunday, September 27th - Flag, Rifle, Sabre Audition

Performers will return on Sunday, September 27th to attend a flag audition and will be evaluated for roles including rifle/sabre as notated upon registration. Equipment auditions will be organized into groups of 14 or less and hosted outdoors at Cricket Field located in Forest Park.

Safety Guidelines

Participants registered for the audition should plan to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the start of each class. Upon check-in, each individual will have their temperature recorded, complete/submit the required health questionnaire, and sign a general liability/media release waiver. Masks (not provided) will be required of everyone attending auditions and general social distancing measures will be implemented for the safety of our participants and staff. Hand sanitizer and chloraseptic wipes will be available at each location. All attendees should plan to bring their personal equipment as additional equipment will not be available for use.

2020-2021 Season

La Voûte Performance Ensemble will provide continuing education opportunities with emphasis on technical skills, community outreach, local performances, design/composition, and leadership throughout the 2020-2021 season. Contracted performers will work in collaboration to further develop their artistic signature and invite the St. Louis community to experience the value of the marching arts. Following a non-competitive format, La Voûte Performance Ensemble will represent the sport of the arts as a professional ambassador for color guard and winter guard programming.
