Belicia Beck is the Interim Director/Rehearsal Director and dancer for Modern American Dance Company. She graduated from the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a degree in Theater and Dance. Belicia began her dance career at a young age in Suffolk, England. In 2012, she served as an apprentice with MADCO and in 2013 became a company member. Now in her ninth season, Belicia serves as the Interim Director for Modern American Dance Compant (MADCO) and a main company dancer. Working in the studio setting since a young age, Belicia enjoys teaching modern, jazz, ballet, tap and gymnastics to students in the St. Louis area. She has also been on faculty as a dance instructor for UMSL. During her time with the company, she’s worked with Joseph Mills, Lindsay Hawkins, Bebe Miller, Jennifer Archibald, Gina Patterson, Cecil Slaughter and Nejla Yatkin, Stephanie Martinez, Joshua Peugh, Christian Denice, Ryan Smith and Wendy Rein directors of RAW Dance, Carl Flink, and Suzanne Ryan to name a few. Belicia choreographed for Modern American Dance Company alongside company dancers Darrell Hyche II and Natalie Williams for The Unity Movement. Belicia is excited for what’s to come in this 44th season and intends to lead the Modern American Dance Company with strength, wisdom, an open mind and an open heart.
